Top-level drama but without great satisfaction

<Wife's Choice> directed by Kan Jia Qing, starring Sun Li, Yuan Wen Kang, Zhang Yao. A modern TV drama broadcast on 2022.06.06 at Hunan TV, simulcast on Mango TV.

The story revolved around housewife Fang Tang who found out her husband is having an affair, while she discover the truth of their marriage, she decide to review this relationship again as well as her own life.

<Wife's Choice> is like <Goodbye,My Love > in last year. Detecting and reveal the truth of a scumbag.

Among all TV series or films in nowadays, neither the story of conquering the world or women are no longer so popular right now. Men themselves on the other hand, becoming the object to be conquered. A long the way of conquering, it gradually turns from a modern TV series into a detective TV series.

Liu Heng once said,the longest battle in the human history is the battle between men and women. Almost the only kind of battle which can be scripted in an exaggerated. Once again, the sigh of ¡®not really much things that we could tell through TV series has appeared in my mind.

<Wife's Choice> is a modern/romance/marriage drama which shoot in super high standard.

From the story structure itself, it revolved around the element which get highly discussed for the past few year ¡®a brand new life to women, or a broken marriage to a married housewife .

On the other hand, it doesn't have the ®sweetness like <The First Half of My Life> or the straightforward like BBC TV series<Doctor Foster>, it doesn It even like the K-drama <The Married Life:The World of the Married> which enlarge the criticism on women.

Extremely is not the word that can be used in <Wife's Choice>,at least not the way of it portrait the female lead.

On the wife character(starring Sun Li), she doesn it show any struggles, even after Ep5, she always shows up decently, the feeling of housewife being cheated by husbandoor other cliche plots are hardly can be seem. Instead, she also has a doubt in marriage.

At the same time, like the title of this drama, she has options. She is a good writer, each articles she wrote became the heat. In fact, the whole family is relying on her income. They don't have kids, she doesn't want kids, so it would be a lot easier for her to let go everything.

Mentally independent, financial independent, and attitude shown by her husband, makes her choose to leave.

If audiences want to see the revenge plot, the storyline between Da Yu and her supervisor won't let you down.

<Wife's Choice> The First 6 Episodes are killing me…..

Frankly speaking, it's just a story between a wealthy housewife decide to living her own life after she found out her husband is cheating on her.But the way it being shot made the story completely different. The storyline has a very clear logic, the scene when the wife is testing her husband make me feel like I was watching detective TV drama, it's like jumping from <The Married Life:The World of the Married> to <The Crack of Dawn>

Interestingly, perhaps in order to highlight the phenomenon that women are in a weak position in love and marriage, the drama uses Qi Miao, an emotional mentor, to put forward many outrageous “female morality” theories, and also portrays some “little wives” who completely believe in the “female morality” theory. It is natural to feel angry as an audience, but whether consciously or unconsciously, such remarks are ubiquitous and popular in real life.
